Pick Of The Week

To be honest, technically that title should read "Pick Of The Weeks" since I haven't done one of these posts for awhile.

I don't know why I have had such a terrible time lately remembering to do them.

Perhaps my brain has went numb from the cold.

At least that is my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Anyway.

Here is my sweet little  Pick.......

An itsy bitsy child's rosary.

It is so small it almost flew right under my usually quite sharp Rosary Radar.

I noticed it just as I was about to pay for all my other goodies.

Hanging there ever so innocently.

I grabbed it, paid, and managed {barely} to contain my happy dance until I got out to the car.

Then I squealed.

At only nine inches total length, this is one teeny tiny charmer.

The crucifix itself measures just a dab over 3/4 of an inch!

The centerpiece is marked "Italy" and those milky white glass beads are rustic in shape and oh-so adorable.

Although I have spied a few of these on-line, I have actually only seen two or three in person during all my years of rosary and religious medal hunting.

The first was W.A.Y too expensive, but it just fueled the fire to find one that I could afford..........

Now just in case you think I'm pulling your leg about the size of this rosary, that awesome book underneath?

It contains Sunday School lessons, Bible verses, a space for notes, a calendar for the year 1895.....

And it isn't much bigger than most cell phones.

Really.

Which only goes to prove that great things do come in small packages!

So serene.

Beautiful in spite of....

{Or is it maybe because of?}

A "wardrobe malfunction"....

And a slight digital problem.

The sweet older lady helping me at the church rummage sale was sure that I could get some sort of plaster and "fix that right up".

I just smiled and nodded.

All the while shuddering at the thought on the inside....

And then a kind gentleman carried my beautiful new treasure out to the car for me.

Show And Tell/Pick Of The Week

As we close in on the end of 2010, I've been having fun looking back through all the photos that I took over the course of the past year.

Some are good.

Some not so much.

After my trip down memory lane, I decided to share with you my Top 100 Favorite Photos Of 2010.  Fifty have been previously used on my blog. Fifty haven't.  {duh}  I have divided my Top 100 up to show over my next four posts, so please come on back!

I'm going to start off with the photos that have already been shown on my blog sometime in the past year.  So, without further ado, and in no particular order, here are the first 25..........

I love these adorable French egg cups!

And, of course, the Cadbury Creme Eggs...

This one of my all time  favorite photos.

Why, I don't know.

It just is.

Absolutely beautiful.

Stuff like this just makes my heart beat faster...

As does this.

Every single time I look at it.

About the closest thing you will ever see to a photo of me.

Anywhere.

Vintage Cha-cha!

Oh!  I can taste this right now!

But currently at $5.99 a box out here in the snowy mountains, I guess I will be waiting a little while.....

Arg.

Just a little something I have left from my long ago days of being a bricks and mortar shopkeeper.

A girl just has to love her Czech glass and pearls.....

A crown and the keys to the castle?

Well, maybe not.

Since I've moved, I won't get to see the old rose bush next year.

I will miss it.

A cuff bracelet I made and sold this year.

I hear it is going to the prom.

Hurray!

One  of the things that I love to hoard collect.

Since I was told that you must have three of something for it to technically be called a collection, I guess I don't quite have a collection of these yet.

But I'm trying.

Go Fish! lariat necklace.

Another of my creations.

Looks good enough to eat, doesn't it?

Something I am going to have fun with if I ever get my beads out of storage.

Which hopefully will be soon.

I love everything in this photo.

Especially that tiny blue crock bowl!

I know I featured this cool disco ball piece a very short time ago.

But, hey! 

I sure don't mind seeing it again.

I can't make up my mind if I should sell this one or keep it for myself.

I know, I know.

I suppose I should be showing Christmas stuff.

However......

Since I have been without a computer for so long, I decided to forgo the holiday greenery and show you that my Religious Relic/Rosary Radar  was cranked up to full capacity while I was at my Mom's for all those weeks.

Yep.

Or perhaps I should say my Medal Magnet  was in high gear?

Anyway.

Even I was amazed.

Now that's some serious bling, Baby!

A necklace?

{Oh my!  Could there really have been more???}

Who cares.

It is downright awesome just the way it is.

 

I would love to meet the woman who wore this.

Shake her hand.

Show And Tell Friday/Pick Of The Week

As promised, I have pretty much been among the missing for the last couple of weeks.

Unfortunately, this is going to continue for awhile.

Sooner or later, things will get back to "normal".

In the mean time, this week I decided to post a very different Show and Tell Friday/Pick of the Week.

 I decided to show you some of what I have been busy with lately..........

No, my house doesn't always look quite  this bad. 

As the saying goes, sometimes it looks worse.

Well, maybe not.

So what is going on?

Rummage sale!

That's right.

Deadwood annual city-wide rummage sale was June 19.

Not to be slackers, Roger and I turned it into a three day event and unloaded tons of crap treasure crap.

What kind of crap?

Only the best.

Of course books were involved.

Stacks and stacks.

Paperbacks.

Hardcovers from the 1940s.

Beautiful decor books.

And you cannot hold a rummage sale without lots and lots of jewelry.

Now these cowgirl earrings would have been perfect for my SoCal blog friend, Lynn.

{heehee}

And these snakes would have been perfect for someone.

I'm just not sure who.

Bingo, anyone?

Vintage aprons?

How about embroidered dish towels?

And just lots of good, old fashioned junk.

Show And Tell Friday/Pick Of The Week

In February as I was working through Kathryn Antyr's Vision Journaling workshop, I created pages showing my fantasies. 

My dreams.

My Homeland. 

PammyLand.

Even though I am a poor steward of time, I did notice that there were quite a few clocks in PammyLand....

Some were quite large.

Some were smaller and came in flocks.

I have been desiring a flock of clocks for quite some time, but could never find any that I both  

A) Liked

B) Could afford

But that changed when I attended an estate sale recently.....

I heard them before I saw them.

Sitting on a shelf {very} loudly ticking away.

There were three of them.

A lady had one in her hand.

I waited.

She put it down.

I pounced.

I had them in my shopping basket!

One!

Two!

And then a man swooped in and grabbed number three!

I gave him the *death* glare.

It didn't work.

Off he went with my clock. 

Ah, but at least I have a start on my flock of clocks.

This gives me something to look for.

{Like I didn't already have something to look for.}

Now for the weird part.

The clocks weren't set to the correct time---they had just been wound up to show they worked.

Later on that night when they wound down, look how they stopped.....

Freaky!

As you may, or may not know, I have been back in my hometown visiting my Mom for the past five weeks or so.

I am still gone.

And since I've been gone so long, I have no new photos of my home, yard or stuff  to show.
